Tim and Candida Humphreys, Piedmont, Italy

Tim and Candida Humphreys live in Monaco and decided to install this formal natural pool in their weekend retreat in Piedmont, Italy. The pool features separated swimming and regeneration zones with a waterfall overflow.

Tim and Candida wanted the swimming pond to be located in an abandoned part of the garden just south of the house and overlooking the valley.

Both were keen to have the regeneration zone including the planting near the house and a separate swimming area.

A reinforced concrete structure on two levels was built by a local contractor to provide the swimming and regeneration area shell.

This was later lined with a beige PVC membrane to reflect the sun.

Then our team installed the filtration system during a one week spell on site.

"I know we are heavily biased, however we think that our natural pool is by a considerable margin the most beautiful pool we have ever seen or swum in and it has transformed the house into something incredible.

"It's been magnificent - the pool gets used every weekend from mid-May to mid-September. It gets up to 28 degrees in the summer." Tim and Candida Humphreys
